Full job description
We are looking for a Product Design Intern who is eager to learn and contribute to real-world product experiences. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about solving user problems, understanding business goals, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will support the design team in:
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure timely delivery of product features.
- Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimised for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Amend designs after feedback.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and product review meetings.
- Track and report on product performance metrics using analytics tools.
- Assist in QA/testing during product releases to ensure features meet specifications.
You qualify for this role if you meet the following requirements. Ideally, you:
- Are excited about working in a tech startup making an impact in the African intercity mobility and logistics space.
- Have a strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
- Are familiar with design software and technologies (such as Figma, Zeplin).
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Basic understanding of user research methods and usability principles.
- Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to take feedback constructively and iterate quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
